magnified image A number of aldimines have been obtained in very good yield in reaction of 5‐formyl‐1,3‐dimethyluracil with various substituted anilines in boiling methanol. Selected aldimines were treated with nitrile oxides generated from 4‐chlorobenzaldoxime or 4‐methylbenzaldoxime forming the appropriate 1,3‐cycloadducts in moderate yields. J.
