Abstract
p,p′‐Polymethylene‐dibenzaldehydes (I, n = 6, 8, 9, 10) have been prepared by Kröhnke's method from the appropriate chloromethyl derivatives. Alternatively p,p′‐hexamethylene‐dibenzaldehyde (I, n = 6) has also been obtained by the LiAlH~4~ reduction of the corresponding bis‐(N‐methylanilide).
