✦ Synopsis
m-hydroxy-u-oximinopropiophenone was hydrogenated by tritium gas in the presence of Pd on carbon catalyst. The crude product was chromatographed on a cation-exchange column. Two major peaks were obtained. Subsequent radio-paper chromatography revealed that these peaks were identical with metaraminol and a-methyl-m-tyramine respectively. When 3,4-dibenzyloxy-uoximinopropiophenone was used as starting material both erythro and threo u-methylnoradrenaline as well as a-methyldopamine
