Abstract
General procedures for the tritiation of juvenile hormone analogues are described. Methyl epoxyfarnesoate, ethyl dichlorofarnesoate, epoxygeranylβpβethylphenyl ether, and ethyl 3,7,11βtrimethylβ2, 4βdodecadienoate were prepared with specific activities in the 50 mCi/mmole range by simple reactions that can be carried out directly in the biochemical laboratory without need for special equipment.

The identification of neuropeptides that inhibit juvenile hormone (JH) synthesis by the corpora allata (CA) has verified the existence of these allatostatins, which, from much experimental evidence, have long been postulated to occur. It also makes possible new approaches for studying the role of al
