Abstract

Optically active new pyridyl alcohols 1–4, which can be easily synthesized by the reaction of (+)‐camphor or (−)‐menthone with lithiated pyridine derivatives, were applied as chiral ligands in the asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes.
