## Abstract The usefulness of hexa‐2,5‐diyn‐1‐ol as an intermediate in the synthesis of arachidonic acid, poly‐yn alcohols and docosa‐4,7,10,13,16,19‐hexaynoic acid is demonstrated. Difficulties in the partial reduction of the latter product to the corresponding all cis‐hexaenoic acid are described
