โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
Polymer metal complexes of poly(styrene sulfonic acidโcoโmaleic acid) and Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Zn(II) were synthesized. The magnetic, spectral, and thermal properties, as well as the electrical conductivities, of the chelates were investigated, and possible structures were assigned to the polychelates. Semiempirical calculations at the AM1 level were carried out on the geometrical arrangement of the polychelates. ยฉ 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 85: 2546โ2551, 2002

It has been evidenced that microcrystalline chitosan (MCCh) with a determined (by the potentiometric method in nonaqueous medium) degree of deacetylation of 0.87 acts as a polymeric chelating agent with cobalt(I1) and zinc(I1). Poly(viny1 chloride) (PVC) has been reacted with dimethylglyoxime (DMG) in THF to form the PVC-DMG complex, which has been characterized by spectroscopic and elemental analyses. The latter indicate that there is one DMG moiety anchored on the PVC chain by displacing every 12th C1 atom in the chain.
## Abstract This work presents the synthesis and characterization of a new waterโsoluble oligophenol derivative, 4โ(2โhydroxybenzylideneamino)benzenesulfanilic acid (OSALโSA) and its metal complexes. The chemical structure of the waterโsoluble polymer was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance
Symmetric 1,1'-dimethylferrocene derived Schiff-base ligands have been prepared by the condensation reaction of 1,1'-diacetylferrocene with 2-aminopyrazine, 2-aminopyridine and 2aminothiazole respectively. Their transition metal chelates, of the type [M(L)]Cl 2 [M = Cu(II)] and [M(L)(Cl 2 )] [M = Co
