✦ Synopsis


The complexes {[Cu(3,3 0 -azpy

were synthesized. The crystal structures show that one-dimensional helical chains [Cu(3,3 0 -azpy) 3 (H 2 O) 2 ] n 2nþ are formed and the helical chains are organized into three-dimensional molecule networks by hydrogen bonding and p-p stacking interactions in 1 and 2. The zigzag chains {[Cu(3,3 0 -azpy)(H 2 O) 4 ]} n 2nþ are formed in 3. The zigzag chains are further linked into the three-dimensional network through the hydrogen bond interactions.
