✦ Synopsis


The straightforward, rapid synthesis and purification of radiochemically pure [ I-JzP]fructose-1,6-bisphosphate starting from radioactively labeled inorganic phosphate is described. The product has a relatively high specific radioactivity (2 x lo5 Ci/mol). Using this method, carrier-free [ 1-32P]fructose-l,6-bisphosphate could be obtained. The use of [l-32P]fructose-1,6-bisphosphate in the assay of fructose bisphosphatase is illustrated.
