✦ Synopsis

A series of acetylenic thiophene derivatives have been synthesized via Pd-catalyzed coupling reaction of 2-(butyltelluro)thiophene with a variety of terminal alkynes. These compounds showed good anti-inflammatory activity in the carrageenininduced paw edema assay on rats.
