## Abstract A series of eleven new 2‐methylthio‐3__H__‐7‐[(__o__‐; __m__‐ and __p__‐substituted) phenoxy]‐4‐(__p__‐substituted‐phenyl)‐[1,5]benzodiazepines, which have potentially useful pharmacological activities, has been synthesized by condensing the 4‐[(__o__‐; __m__‐ and __p__‐R~1~)phenoxy]‐1,
