isolated a new antibiotic from metabolites of P. chrysogenum under the experimental conditions which they adopted. Because of its strong action against Gram--re bacteria the antibiotic was denoted "~qegapfllin".
Negapillin shows marked synergistic or antagordstie influences when combined with penicillin, streptomycin, chloramphenieol, tetracycline, sulfanilamide and 6-sulfanilamido 2,4 dimethylpyrimidin. Results and discussion concerning these effects are given in the present papers.
