โœฆ Synopsis

The rate of vinyl chloride polymerization initiated by doubly labelled benzoyl peroxide in dichloroethane at 60 ยฐ was measured dilatometrically. The extent of primary radical termination, evaluated from the assay of the polymer samples recovered at 10% conversion, is compared with values deduced from analysis of the kinetic data.

The kinetics of vinyl chloride polymerization initiated by benzoyl peroxide doubly labelled with t4C and 3H were studied in 1,2-dichloroethane solution at 60 ยฐ. The importance of primary radical termination in the polymerization is examined by kinetic analysis and by analysis of polymers for combine

Acrylamide was polymerized in acetonitrile at 82 ยฐC with a perfluorinated azo-derivative initiator. The polymerization proceeded heterogeneously. Varying amounts of initiator and monomer were used. A relatively fast method for determining the initial rate of polymerization from the maximum of isothermal thermograms ("Vp. max method") is described. The method was verified for the polymerization of methyl methacrylate in dimethylformamide. The initial rates and overall rate constants agree excel
