✦ Synopsis
The ability to crosslink polymers is of considerable industrial interest.' To this end we have investigated the structure, chemical reactions and thermal stability of 2,2'-diisocyanato-2,2'-azopropane (1) which is a potential free radical source and has a reactive functional group _ built into the initiator. As such, a monomer unit could be attached to the initiator or the initiator could itself be incorporated into the polymer.

## Abstract A series of substituted __N__‐(4‐substituted‐benzoyl)‐__N__‐[3‐(1‐methyl‐1__H__‐imidazol‐2‐yl)propyl]amines (**13**) and __N__‐arylsulfonyl‐__N__‐[3‐(1‐methyl‐1__H__‐imidazol‐2‐yl)propyl]amines (**14**) were prepared from the reaction of 3‐(1‐methyl‐1__H__‐imidazol‐2‐yl)propan‐1‐amine (
