## Abstract An improved synthesis of the tritium labelled form of the new pharmacon DIENOGEST is described. The [^14^α,15α‐^3^‐H]DIENOGEST was obtained with a specific activity of 51 Ci/mmol and a radiochemical purity > 98%.

Abstract
The preparation of [14α,15α‐^3^H]‐17α‐cyanomethyl‐17ß‐hydroxy‐estra‐4,9‐diene‐3‐one (X) starting with catalytic tritiation of 3‐methoxy‐estra‐1,3,5(10),8,14‐pentaene‐17ß‐ol (I) and followed by a ten‐step synthesis is described. This new high effective gestagene STS 557 was obtained with high specific aotivity and radioohemioal purity better than 98 % Radiolysis and storage conditions are examined.
