Mdk samples were analysed spcctrophotometncally for their lactose content usmg flow-lwectlon analysis The methodology IS based on the carmme colour that develops (Amu = 540 nm) when lactose reacts with alkahne methylamme (pH 12 7) Lactose concentrations as low as 0 6 mg ml-' can be readily detected
