The syntheses of [Pt(adenine)X,] \*2H,O (X = Cl, I), [Pt(adenosine)Iz] .2H,O, [Pt(guanosine)Jz] , [Pt-(guanine)Iz] and [Pt(cytosine)Iz] are reported. Infrared, electronic and proton n.m.r. spectra have been used to assign coordination numbers, denticity and binding sites of the ligands.
