✦ Synopsis


Abstract

A study has been made of the solubility of arachin under conditions approximating to those of the ‘Ardil’ manufacturing process. This was done by investigating the four‐component system, water, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid and arachin. The results are represented in the form of a tetrahedron and the limits of complete solubility of arachin above and below the isoelectric point are shown. The effect of salt concentration on the solubility of arachin below pH 5·0 has also been studied.
