✦ Synopsis


A Food Database Management System (FDBMS) has been developed for the review, compilation and documentation of data for nutrients and other food components, and for their comparison with the values in other databases. A flexible user interface supports rapid and convenient display and editing of data, providing a tabular layout with user-selected components, foods selected from any available database and additional rows for documentation when required. Property windows display detailed information on individual foods, values and source references. Key aspects of data documentation are discussed, together with possible further developments in these areas.
