β¦ Synopsis
For long, milk lipids were neglected, standing in the shadow of milk protein. This was also due to a -in many countries -restrictive legislation towards dairy products. This barrier has fallen now and milk fat as well as other milk lipids gain more and more of technological and scientific interest. On the one hand this is for the properties and the modification of milk fat. On the other, nutritional aspects of conjugated linoleic acids for instance are getting high attention as well as for example the phospholipids and lipoproteins of milk. DGF's newly founded and youngest division 'milk lipids' intends to bear this development in mind by providing a forum which mirrors all development in this field. It will promote all new knowledge and discoveries as well as new technologies. The surface is only just scratched where the technological opportunities and where the nutritional benefit is concerned. Now it matters to develop this further; the division will be the ideal independent forum to do so. It will cover all aspects of milk lipids from nutrition to technology, from feeding the cow to the consumer product. Join us, be with us it will be worth while!
