β¦ Synopsis
4 new method is proposed for producing a high-denslty beam of size-selected neutral clusters of metal or semiconductor materials. Thts method is based on photodetachment of negative cluster ions, size-selected and then tightly focused by two sets of einzei lens systems. This method was shown to focus the size-selected neutral cluster of Cl0 beyond the limit of the "space charge" effect observed in the beam profile of C;.
