β¦ Synopsis
The mutual interference between the second-derivative bands of tyrosine and tryptophan in proteins has been evaluated in terms of the ratio r between two peak-to-peak distances. The r values have been found to be well related, although not linearly, to the tyrosine/ tryptophan ratio in both model compound mixtures and proteins. A method for the simultaneous determination of the two major protein chromophores at neutral pH has been developed.

## Abstract __Background__: To explore the clinical significance of serum tyrosine (Tyr) and tryptophan (Trp) in patients with lung cancer, we used a simple and efficient method of highβperformance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (HPLCβFD) that simultaneously measured serum Trp an
A simple, rapid, sensitive and selective method for the simultaneous determination of the non-stetoidal anti-inflammatory drug naptoxen (NAP) and its main metabolite the 6-demethylated derivative (DNAP) in human serum is described. The method is based on the intrinsic fluorescence of both acids in a
In order to study protein digestibility by means of noninvasive tracer techniques (stable isotopes), a representative oral tracer, i.e. a stable isotope labeled protein, is needed. Therefore, egg white containing L-[ring-2 H 5 ]phenylalanine and L-[ring-2 H 4 ]tyrosine was prepared. The aim of this
