The energetics and lifetimes of a number of substituted oletin and diene triplets have been measured using photoacoustic calorimetry. All the acyclic triplets studied have triplet energies less than their spectroscopic values. This suggests they prefer a twisted relaxed geometry.

We measured the thermal vibrational relaxation times of C02, N,O, pure CH, and mixtures of CH, with He, Ne, Ar, CO and N, between 300 and 400 "K by the impact tube method. The results were compared to the bibliographical data obtained with various methods (ultrasound, fluorescence, spectrophone). A
