✦ Synopsis
We measured the thermal vibrational relaxation times of C02, N,O, pure CH, and mixtures of CH, with He, Ne, Ar, CO and N, between 300 and 400 "K by the impact tube method. The results were compared to the bibliographical data obtained with various methods (ultrasound, fluorescence, spectrophone). A theory has been established to compute reaction rate constants of each collision reaction from the experiments and compare them to theoretical values computed through quantum mechanics.
