✦ Synopsis
A method for the simultaneous deterrmnatlon of trace amounts of molybdenum and tungsten m nuxtures by first-derivative synchronous solid-phase spectrofluorlmetry IS described Molybdenum and tungsten reacted Hrlth carmnnc acid to give red fluorescent complexes, which were fixed on a dextran-type anion-exchange resin The fluorescence of the resm, packed m a l-mm sduza cell, was measured directly with a sohd-surface attachment The constant wavelength difference chosen to optimize the determination was AA = A(em) -A(ex) = 70 nm Molybdenum was measured at A(ex) and A(em) = 506 and 576 nm, and tungsten at A(ex) and A(em) = 52.0 and 590 nm The range of apphcatlon IS between 2 0 and 20 0 pg 1-l for molybdenum and between 2 0 and 20 0 pg 1-l for tungsten The accuracy and preclslon of the method are reported The method was applied to the deternnnatlon of molybdenum and tungsten in synthetic mixtures and natural waters
