From an alder (Alnus incana) genomic library, we have isolated a clone containing the entire chloroplast rRNA operon. Restriction fragments spanning the 23S rRNA gene were subcloned into M 13mp 19, deletions were prepared [ 1 ] and both strands were sequenced [ 3]. The complete nucleotide sequence (

## Abstract Cloning, sequencing and characterization of nearly full‐length 23S rRNA genes in 12 urease‐positive thermophilic __Campylobacter__ (UPTC) isolates were carried out using two novel PCR primer pairs. Nucleotide sequences of the 23S rRNA genes from the 12 isolates were first shown not to c

We have determined the sequence of the lamB gene from Klebsiella pneumoniae. It encodes the precursor to the LamB protein, a 429 amino acid polypeptide with maltoporin function. Comparison with the Escherichia coli LamB protein reveals a high degree of homology, with 325 residues strictly identical.
