Tbe sensitivity of performance index with respect to parameter variations in the state equation of optimally designed linear time-delay systems is discussed by introducing the concept of p-sensitivity for such systems. Two cases are considered depending on the nature of these variations. In one case

โฆ Synopsis
systems involving time delays are expressed by differential-difference equations or by ordinarypartial differential equations, the practical computation [4-6] of an optimal control from the optimality condition needs enormous efforts, and it becomes almost impossible when the system order is high. Therefore, it is a practical necessity to find feasible approximate methods.
