The emission spectra of the second excited singlet state of [ 181 annukne and of monofluoro [ 181 annulene (m a 3methylpentanc glass at 4 K) are reported. The large ener,7 gap between the fist and second excited singlet states inhibits fast internal cogversion and favours the appearance of S2 + So e

โฆ Synopsis
Absorption, fluorescence emission and fluorescence excitation spectra of the g 'A' +% IA' (IT* + d band system of UFCS in the gas phase at room temperature and at -78ยฐC have been measured. Quantum yieids of fluorescence from nine shle vrbronic leveIs of the g state have been measured under isolated molecule conditions and radiative and non-radiative de&y constants have been estimated.

Fluorescence has been observed from the second excited singkt stste of tkiophosgene vapour. The emission is excited mainly by transitions originating in the out-of-plane bending mode of the ground stzte and terminating in the lowest vibrational levekof the-excited state. i '.
With hqwd \_wlutlons of the aromstlc ketones anthraqumone and 'lamhone, a P-type delayed fluorescence from upper ewited smglet states, resultmg from tnplet-tnplet annihdation, has been obsened. Some peculurltles of the triplet-triplet annihilation of aromatlc ketones are dacussed.
The dynamic behavior of the second excited singlet state of QCS has been investigated for the first time in liquid solutions. In perfluoroalkane solvents strong B-ji. fluorescence (@f up to 0.077) 1s observed when the molecule is excited to bound vibrational states. s lifetimes of up 10 2.8 ns are o
