โœฆ Synopsis

Fluorescence has been observed from the second excited singkt stste of tkiophosgene vapour. The emission is excited mainly by transitions originating in the out-of-plane bending mode of the ground stzte and terminating in the lowest vibrational levekof the-excited state.

The dynamic behavior of the second excited singlet state of QCS has been investigated for the first time in liquid solutions. In perfluoroalkane solvents strong B-ji. fluorescence (@f up to 0.077) 1s observed when the molecule is excited to bound vibrational states. s lifetimes of up 10 2.8 ns are o
