✦ Synopsis

Hetero-Diels-Alder reactions of 2-hydroxymethyle `ne indanone derivatives to hydrazone a-halogenocetones are described. The stereospecificity and regiospecificity of the reactions are discussed. New fused indanone-spiro-pyridazine structures are reported.
