โœฆ Synopsis

Photodissociation of tetraphenylhydrazine produces two diphenylaminyl radicals within I ps. A transient anisotropy, due to the diphenylaminyl radicals, has been measured and is described by a model based on the rotational diffusion of two initially correlated ellipsoids. A tetrahedral geometry for the tetraphenylhydrazine is consistent with the data.

A comparison of the ESR spectral parameters of 14N and lsN nitroxide radicals in various viscous media in the region of rapid rotational motion is presented. It is shown that in viscous media. such as vaseliue oil, polymers. etc.. the radical reorientation has a complicated nature which cannot be de
