✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The combination of right‐handed and left‐handed transmission line sections enables a novel design strategy for miniature dual‐band resonators and filters in the GHz‐range with a wide stopband at higher frequencies. The design procedure is described, and experimental results for five ceramic multilayer samples of two different designs are presented. All measured data agree well with the results of the electromagnetic simulations and display a high reproducibility of the low‐cost technology used for the implementation of the devices. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
