✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A coplanar‐waveguide‐based (CPW‐based) composite right/left‐handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) is proposed. By introducing parallel‐plate capacitors to enlarge the distributed series capacitance, it can be exploited in diverse miniaturized components. In addition, planar structure is easier to implement. Using such a structure, an ultra‐wideband (UWB) filter is proposed. Two transmission zeros are located close to the passband edges, which makes a good selectivity and stopband rejection of the filter. The fractional 3‐dB bandwidth is larger than 71%. Agreements between simulated and measured responses of the filter are demonstrated. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
