## Abstract Azides were reduced to the corresponding amines by two new metal/Lewis acid systems in aqueous EtOH with yields ranging from 80% to 95%. The new reduction systems were Fe/AlCl~3~ยท6H~2~O or Fe/BiCl~3~ system in H~2~O/ethanol (2:1, __V__:__V__) at room temperature. Fifteen azides with dif
