The neutral lipophilic ingredients of deep frozen testicular tissue of young bulls have been reinvestigated. Besides steroids known to occur in this type of tissue the following have been isolated for the first time : 17a-hydroxyprogesterone, 3-keto-17a, 20%-dihydroxy-A4-pregnene, 3-keto-17a, 20p-dihydroxy-A4-pregnene, epi-testosterone, 6p-hydroxytestosterone, 15a-hydroxytestosterone, 16a-hydroxytestosterone and 3/3-hydroxy-17-keto-A5-androstene (DHA). In addition the chromatographic identification of four other steroids has been accomplished for the first time: 78hydroxycholesterol, progesterone, 3,11, 17-triketo-A4-androstene and 3p-hydroxy-17-keto-androstane.
