โœฆ Synopsis

Absolute rate constants for the reaction OH + SO2 + N2 have been determined in the gas phase, at 297 K, in the pressure range SO-760 Torr. OH radicals were grnerated by flash photolysis of NzO/Hz mixtures and were monitored by time-resolved resonance absorption. The second-order rate constant $I was found to depend on the pressure of Nz and may be expressed as: kI1= 7.4 X loll/(1 + 237/p) where P is in Ton and klI in cm3 mol-' s-l _
