The reaction rates of SO3 with CH,OH in He were measured at total pressures of 0.7-1.6 torr in flow tubes. The concentration of SO3 was monitored by the SOz\* fluorescence from excitation of SO3 at 147 nm. The reaction rate constant of SO3 + CH30H in the gas phase is determined to be (1.17 ? 0.16) x

MoIecuhr modulation spectrometry has been employed to mesure the rate constants for the reactions ofCHxO2 with HOz. NO2 and X0. A negnthe tcmpcraturc dependence is reported for the rextion nirh HO_r. Product spectra are giwn for the reactions with lIOt and NO?_

The CHsOs radical was generated by pulsed laser photolysis and was detected directly by photoionization mass spectrometry. The radical was photoionized by the Ar resonance lines ( 11.62 and 11.83 eV) and detected as the parent ion, CHsO: . Reactions of CH302 and CDs02 with NO were studied by time-re
