✦ Synopsis
The r.ttc const.mt for the reacticn of ClC12 uith oxygen is measured in the pressure range 0.2-12 Torr using pulsedl.tser photolysis and time-resolved mass spectrometry. CFC12 mdicals are generated by photolysis of CFCIs at 193 nm. The rwction kinetics are recorded by monitoring the build-up of the CFCI:O~ radical concentration_ The reaction is in its frilloff re:ion,;lnd the pammeters of the relation for the trcatmcnt of the falloff are for ?4 = N2: k(0) = (5.0 2 0.8) X 10m3' cm6 molecule-2 s-l .X-(m) = (6.0 + 1.0) X IO-l2 cm3 molecule-r s-' _ This value of k(-) is consistent with results obtained .tt lo\ pressure taking Fc = 0.6, but the uncertainty in the highpressure limit is much higher. The results are compxed to mwsurements performed with CI13 zmd C1'3_ Lstimrites of the rektive third-body efficiencies of lie and N2 are given for CI'C12 .rnd Cl-s.
