Pro-protein convertases (PCs) are proteases that recognize and cleave precursor proteins. Furin, a well-studied PC, is ubiquitously expressed, and it has been implicated in many physiological and pathological processes. Some substrates for furin, such as membrane type 1 (MT1) matrix metalloproteinas

β¦ Synopsis
We studied the in vitro radiobiological parameters of 16 human head and neck squamous cell carcinoma tumor cell lines cultured from patients who suffered local failure after a curative course of radiotherapy. The radiobiological parameters determined included Do, n, and 6. When compared with in vitro radiobiological parameters of tumor cells cultured from head and neck cancer patients prior to radiotherapy, human sarcoma cell lines, and normal human diploid fibroblasts studied in our laboratory (as well as other human tumor cell lines reported in the literature), tumor cells derived from radiotherapy failures on average are resistant to the cytotoxic effects of ionizing radiation.

The preparation of single-cell suspensions from 25 human head and neck tumors is described. Dispersal was performed overnight at 4Β°C under slight agitation of the tissue suspensions using various combinations of enzymes and additives. The cell suspensions were examined for number of cells released,
## Abstract ## Background and Objective In the last years, photodynamic therapy, performed with hematoporphyrin derivatives, gained in importance for the treatment of superficially situated malignomas. The use of hematoporphyrin as photosensitizer is limited especially by the low depth of penetrat
The authors established five cell lines from a human head and neck tumor. The five cell lines (HC-2, HC-3, HC-4, HC-7, and HC-9) exhibited different sensitivities to Adriamycin, cisplatin, bleomycin, 5- fluorouracil, vincristine, and daunomycin. The Dw was 200 ng/ml Adriamycin (doxorubicin) for HC-7
