✦ Synopsis
PH (b 'C? has been obtained in the vacmzm ultravioiolet flash photolysis of PH3 and detected by the 697.3 nm emission due to the forbidden transition PH (b 'Z * -+ X 3Z-). Rate coefficients for mdiitive and collisional deactivatioa have been determined by time resolved measurements. A radiative Iifetime of (1.2541'6 _oJ3) x low3 sand a quencw rate constant for mllisions with PH3 of (275 i 0.07) X lo-t3 (molecule-* cm3 8) hzve b&n obtained.
