The radiative lifetime of the NO (b 4~-, U' = 4) state has been measured using the high frequency deflection technique. The result, 9.23 + 0.90 Ixs, is in reasonable agreement with ab initio calculations but a factor of two larger than an earlier experimental determination.

The 193 nm photolysis of acetylene has been used as a source of &(B 'Z: ) radicals, which are subsequently detected by laserinduced fluorescence technique. The pressure-dependent collisional lifetimes of this radical are experimentally determined by delaying the probe laser with respect to the photo
The potential curves for the X 'II, A %+ and B 2A states of the CF molecule have been determined using large Gaussian basis sets and accounting for electron correlation with the CASSCF/multireference CI method. The transition moment function between the X \*II and A %+ state is found to undergo a dr
The velocity modulation laser absorption technique was employed to obtain the spectrum of the \((0,1)\) band of the \(B^{4} \Sigma_{u}^{-}-X^{4} \Sigma_{g}^{-}\)system of \(C_{2}^{+}\). These states were rotationally analyzed and a study of the \(B^{4} \Sigma_{u}^{-}-2^{2} \Pi_{u}\) interaction was
We have used laser-induced fluorescence on a fast ion beam to study the B 4~-\_X 4~g system of the homonuclear molecular ion C~-. We have observed rotational lines of the (1, 1) band by using a Doppler tuning technique and the high resolution obtained has permitted a detailed study of spin splitting
