β¦ Synopsis
We demonstrated passively Q-switched mode-locking in a laser-diode pumped c-cut Nd:GdVO 4 laser with a Cr 4ΓΎ :YAG crystal as the intracavity saturable absorber. At a pump power of 17.3 W, the Q-switched envelope repetition rate was 37 kHz with the maximum average output power of 2.1 W, while the mode-locked pulses within the Q-switched envelope had a repetition rate of 143 MHz. Experimental comparison between c-cut and a-cut Nd:GdVO 4 lasers indicated that the c-cut Nd:GdVO 4 was more suitable for Q-switched mode-locking.

A diode-pumped actively Q-switched and modelocked Nd:GdVO4 laser with great average output power and high efficiency was realized by using a comparative simple configuration and a short cavity length. The laser generates stable mode-locked pulses of estimated width 240 ps lying underneath a Q-switch
The realization of high repetition rate passively Q-switched monolithic microlaser is a challenge since a decade. To achieve this goal, we report here on the first passively Q-switched diode-pumped microchip laser based on the association of a Nd:GdVO 4 crystal and a Cr 4+ :YAG saturable absorber. T
We report on the passively Q-switched mode-locking of a quasi-cw (QCW) diode pumped Nd:GdVO 4 laser with Cr 4+ :YAG saturable absorber. We show that by using the QCW pumping high quality Q-switched mode-locking can be easily obtained in the laser even with a simple two-mirror laser cavity configurat
