## Keceived 22 August I988 The fluorescence lifetime of bifluorene was found to be 240 times shorter than that of fluorene and it is viscosity dependent in alkane and alcohol solvents. The lifetime is also temperature dependent with Arrhenius energies in the range 3.5 to 4.2 kcal/mol, suggesting t
