✦ Synopsis

Problem‐based learning is seen as an effective response to calls for reform in medical education. A literature review showed that librarians studying the effects of problem‐based learning on library and learning resources have found that the new curriculum results in increased library resource use. Also, librarians typically provided more educational programmes and assumed greater faculty responsibilities in their own institutions. While significant research on problem‐based learning libraries has been completed, there are still many topics to be explored.
