Abstract
A printed dual‐band monopole antenna suitable for wireless local‐area network (WLAN) applications in the 2.4‐ and 5.2‐GHz bands is presented. The monopole antenna including the ground plane is printed on the same (front) surface of a narrow FR4 substrate (with no metallic portion in the back side of the substrate), which makes it easy to fabricate. In addition, the antenna also showed good radiation characteristics. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
