✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A novel coplanar waveguide‐fed triple‐band antenna with omni directional radiation patters in the azimuth plane is proposed. The proposed antenna consists of two closed rectangular rings monopole and an inverted‐T strip. It can provide three separate impedance bandwidths of 17.5%, range from 2.38 to 2.82 GHz; bandwidth of 16%, range from 3.32 to 3.88 GHz; and bandwidths of 25.5%, range from 5.13 to 6.53GHz, respectively, covering all the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN bands and 2.5/3.5/5.5 GHz WiMAX bands. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
