Abstract

Methyl [1‐^14^C]docosa‐7,10,13,16‐tetraenoate was prepared from [1‐^14^C]arachidonic acid by two successive Arndt‐Eistert syntheses which also can be used for the step‐wise homologation of other labeled fatty acids. After purification by gas chromatography the specific activity was 6.16 mCi/mmol, and the radiochemical purity was 97%.
