✦ Synopsis

A new type ofmanostat has been developed, in which a thin-film material is utilized. It is possible to control the liquid He vapour pressure within O. 1 Torr (1.3 x 10 Nm -2) in the range between 1 atm (1.01 x 105 Nm -2) and 4 Torr (5.3 x 102 Nm -2) by use of a thin polyethylene film sheet.
