The effect of quartz, burnt quartz and ammonium phosphate on the polymerization of methyl methacrylate in aqueous medium using sodium bisulfite as initiator is studied. The quartz ore has a higher catalytic effect than the burnt quartz. The effect of the additives on the polymerization rate, on the
