✦ Synopsis
In the structure of the title complex, [Mn 2 (C 8 H 4 O 4 )Cl 2 -(C 12 H 8 N 2 ) 2 ], each Mn II cation is surrounded by two O atoms from two terephthalate dianions, two bridging Cl atoms and two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline molecule in a distorted octahedral geometry. Each terephthalate dianion functions as a 4 -bridging ligand to form a zigzag chain. Neighbouring chains are held together by -chloro bridges, which create a three-dimensional architecture.
